Primary Six Islamic Religious Education provides upper-primary learners with essential guidance for spiritual growth, moral discipline, and active community participation under the central theme of living as dedicated servants of Allah. Aligned with the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) syllabus, this course connects core Islamic principles to the physical, emotional, and social transitions of middle childhood. By integrating teachings from the Holy Qur'an and Hadith with daily experiences, pupils are empowered to develop righteous character (Akhlaq), practice correct acts of worship (Ibadah), and promote peace and justice within their families and wider society.
What Learners Will Study Throughout the course, learners will explore key thematic units covering fundamental pillars of Islamic knowledge:
- Qur'an & Hadith Studies: Recitation, memorization, and practical application of selected Surahs (such as Surat Al-Adiyat, Al-Qari'ah, At-Takathur, and Al-Asr), alongside Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) teachings on honesty, neighborliness, and social responsibility.
- Tawheed (Islamic Faith): Deepening understanding of the Attributes of Allah (Sifat Allah), belief in Divine Messengers (Anbiya), Divine Books (Kutub), and understanding Qadar (Predestination).
- Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence): Detailed guidelines on spiritual cleanliness (Taharah), the rules and conditions of Salat (including congregational and voluntary prayers), guidelines on Siyam (fasting), and the importance of Zakat and Sadaqah in alleviating poverty.
- Tarikh (Islamic History): Key events in the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during the Madinan period, the rise of the early Muslim community, and lessons from the leadership of the Rightly Guided Caliphs (Khulafa ar-Rashidun).
- Akhlaq & Social Guidance: Cultivating Islamic moral values—including respect for elders, managing peer pressure, upholding justice, protecting the environment, avoiding harmful behaviors, and maintaining peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims.
