Welcome to Advanced History Unit 1. This course is designed to help learners explore major historical developments, ideas, movements, and personalities that have shaped societies across time. History is not only about studying past events; it is about understanding how the past influences the present and guides the future.
Through a competence-based approach, learners will actively engage in inquiry, analysis, interpretation, research, communication, and problem-solving. The course encourages independent thinking, collaboration, and responsible citizenship by enabling learners to evaluate historical evidence and connect historical events to contemporary issues.
In this unit, learners will:
- Investigate historical events using primary and secondary sources.
- Develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Interpret different historical perspectives.
- Communicate historical arguments clearly and logically.
- Appreciate cultural diversity, heritage, and global interdependence.
- Apply historical knowledge to real-life situations and national development.
The study of Advanced History promotes values such as patriotism, responsibility, integrity, tolerance, and respect for human rights. Learners are expected to participate actively in discussions, research activities, debates, projects, and presentations that build lifelong learning competencies.
