Welcome to Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at Senior Six, where technology becomes a powerful tool for innovation, problem-solving, communication, entrepreneurship, and national development. In today's rapidly changing digital world, ICT is no longer just about using computers—it is about understanding how digital technologies transform the way we learn, work, conduct business, make decisions, and interact with society.

At this level, you will build upon the knowledge and skills acquired in previous classes by exploring more advanced concepts, analysing emerging technologies, designing practical digital solutions, and applying computational thinking to solve real-life challenges. You will investigate how technologies such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, networking, cybersecurity, databases, multimedia systems, web technologies, and data analytics are shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution and creating new opportunities for individuals, organisations, and nations.

The Competence-Based Curriculum places you at the centre of learning. You are expected to become an active researcher, innovator, collaborator, communicator, and ethical digital citizen. Through practical projects, investigations, discussions, case studies, and collaborative problem-solving, you will develop the competencies required for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.

Throughout this course, you will be encouraged to design digital solutions that address authentic challenges within your school, community, and Uganda as a whole. You will strengthen your creativity, critical thinking, communication, teamwork, digital literacy, leadership, and responsible use of technology while appreciating the legal, ethical, social, economic, and environmental implications of ICT.

As you complete Senior Six ICT, you should be able to confidently evaluate technological developments, create innovative digital products, manage information effectively, protect digital systems and data, and harness ICT to improve productivity, support sustainable development, and contribute meaningfully to Uganda's transformation into a knowledge-based digital economy.

"Technology alone does not change the world—innovative, ethical, and competent people do. Let ICT empower you to become one of those people."
