PRIMARY SIX CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (CRE) LEARNERS GUIDE

Primary Six Christian Religious Education focuses on guiding learners through their spiritual and moral development under the unifying theme, "Christians on the Way." Aligned with the National Curriculum Development Centre (NCDC) syllabus, this course helps pupils appreciate their unique God-given talents, navigate the physical and emotional transitions of adolescence, and build responsible relationships. By integrating biblical teachings with everyday life experiences, learners are equipped to handle social challenges, demonstrate compassion, and actively contribute to their communities as upright citizens.

What Learners Will Study Throughout the year, learners will explore essential thematic units designed to deepen their faith and social responsibility:

• Self-Discovery & God's Call: Understanding oneself as uniquely created, recognizing personal strengths and weaknesses, managing adolescent changes, and studying biblical figures who acted as messengers and redeemers.
• Overcoming Evil & Suffering: Examining the root causes of suffering and social evils (such as injustice, disease, and exploitation), how Jesus responded to suffering, the story of Job, and practical ways to care for the vulnerable in society.
• Christ’s Gifts for the Journey: Exploring Jesus as the ultimate answer to life's challenges through prayer, forgiveness, and the spiritual support provided by the Holy Spirit and the sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion).
• Friendship & Christian Behavior: Identifying qualities of genuine friends, offering and receiving good advice, understanding the foundations of Christian marriage, and practicing virtues like justice, unity, and environmental stewardship (inspired by figures like St. Francis of Assisi).
• Christian Involvement in the World: Using God-given talents for community development, understanding the complementary role of religion and science, learning civic responsibilities (such as participating in democratic processes), and finding true happiness.
