Christian Religious Education – Senior Two: Introduction. This subject is part of Uganda’s competency-based curriculum reform. It changes what you learn, how you learn it, and how long you spend on it – so you leave school equipped not just with facts, but with skills, values, and the confidence to think for yourself. The shift in learning: School is no longer just about memorising information. In CRE Senior Two, you will: Build knowledge and understanding of Christian teachings, morality, and their role in society; develop skills like critical thinking, communication, creativity, and reflection; grow in values that guide how you relate to God, others, and your community.
How you’ll learn: You’ll be guided to find answers for yourself, not just copy from the teacher or textbook. Expect to: Engage in activities that connect Bible teachings to your life and community experiences; work in groups and pairs to discuss, share ideas, and solve problems together; research using the Bible, books, and other sources to deepen your understanding. Thinking for yourself is harder than copying, but it’s what makes learning meaningful and prepares you for life. By the end of Senior Two, you’ll be better able to apply Christian values in making choices and contributing positively to society.
